Michigan fans know the story of “The House that Cazzie built.” We thought it fitting to commemorate the history of the venue while we honor the man who ushered in the modern age of Michigan Basketball.

Crafted from the original maple playing floor installed in Crisler Arena prior to it’s debut in 1967. The 1/2-inch hardwood planks were carefully removed during the 2011 renovation with most displayed in the renovated Crisler Hall of Honor, team tunnel, and new Player Development Center. The few that didn’t end up on the walls made their way to us in 2019.

Exquisitely and exclusively manufactured for us by Tokens & Icons, the CAZZIE RUSSELL EDITION Crisler Arena pen includes a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the provenance of the flooring plus an additional COA signed by Cazzie himself, bearing the classic image of Cazzie surveying the Crisler construction progress in 1966. Every pen will be delivered in our custom Crisler Arena logo box.

The available material is extremely scarce — only about 40 square feet and nail holes make much of that unusable for pen turning — so the Cazzie Russell Edition will be limited to two concurrent runs of 133 pieces each:

“Maple & Steel” Limited Edition: includes one of the 2” steel cleats (nails) that secured the Crisler flooring. Cazzie’s autograph on the numbered COA is in blue ink.

An ideal gift for the most dedicated Michigan basketball fan, this rhodium-plated rollerball pen measures 5" long and 7/16" in diameter and twice shows off the original maple floor installed at Crisler Arena in 1967: the barrel is turned from the hardwood and the playing surface is visible in the pen top.
